This region is the homeland of the Havasupai people (their reservation headquarters are in nearby Peach Springs). Once it was a stage stop, then a railroad switching area (and, in fact, is named about Jesse Seligman, a financier of railroad lines in the area), and then a destination stop on Route 66 with many historic buildings.

Double Vision is as mysterious to me today as it was when I photographed it in 2014.
